Having just witnessed the load of bollocks that was Arsenal v Chelsea the betting odds on winning the league look increasingly ridiculous and seemingly based on past few seasons' form than this season's. How else would you have Arsenal and Chelsea at 9/2 and us at 25/1 when only 2 points off the top with nearly half the season gone? It must be unprecedented to have such a disparity for teams so close to each other so far into the season. I'm not saying we're going to win it, but the bookies are taking a hell of a risk by dismissing our challenge.

PS - City are near evens favourites. RS are 11/2. Utd are 16/1 (bet on them if you want to throw your money away).

They are not dismissing it, but rather tempting you to be on it. If they offered us at 5-1 who in Joe Public is going to back??

Or are they in bed with the Londoncentric media in just dismissing our chances out of hand?

great value

...we were 200-relatively recently. The odds have been daft from the start. At the beginning of the season the rs were one of the favourites to finish top 4 yet we were 20-1 even though we'd finished above them the last 2 seasons. I had a to have a bit of that, not particularly because I fancied us, but because it was a daft price compared to our neighbours. Paddy Power was on telly last season and amazingly he said his company make half their annual profits on punters backing the reds.

Reason the RS odds are so low and the likes of ours are good value is because the RS have a huge Asian fan base were as the last poster said a lot of people back them. The more people that back someone the lower the odds go. It's never good value to back the RS because of the Asian market
