2025/26 Beto

We don't create much for him but he's not been offering much threat at all.

He used to be trying to make runs behind and it seems like he's just giving up because he's never seeing the ball.

The amount of times we get the ball in a position to cross to him only to pull it back has got to be doing his head in.

He did himself no favours. Hes not getting balls in front to run on, but he's not making runs either.

But the whole "need a better striker" doesn't solve other issues.

Barry barely touched the ball when he came on

Can’t fathom how bad he’s turned out. Nevermind not being able to trap a ball sometimes he just looks like he doesn’t know how to run like a real human.

His movements remind me of that alien in men in black when he takes over some poor human’s skin and struggles to walk…and I think he’d still more likely get away from a defender than Beto.

We created nothing today and we haven't been creating loads in general.

Yes, we all know how severely limited Beto is but it's not like he's missed hatfuls of chances.

The midfielders owe him a lot of thanks because he's a lightning rod for criticism when they're not doing their jobs well.

I'm prepared to give Barry time, it's hard coming into a brand new team and league, Wirtz is struggling at RS and he cost 5 times as much. As for Beto, honestly it's absolutely embarrassing watching him in the Everton number 9 shirt, his all round play is shocking. He was dreadful again tonight but not the only one

Commentator summed it up, doesn't help himself.

The through ball from Garner, he has to get a shot off.

But the rest were also one-dimensional, hardly anyone looking to play it to the striker.

Yeah, ive mentioned it in another thread.

I dont think the strikers compliment the other attacking players because of the type of player they are.

Beto is a direct player who doesn't want it to feet, surrounded by players who want a focal point to pass to.

3 successful passes from a grand total of 5 attempted passes in 70 minutes. Top draw forward play.

Doesn't matter what style of football we play, a professional footballer should be able to at very least do the basics.
Beto can't.
He is always always flat footed, watch how many times we clear the ball up the field and he is nowhere near first to it.
Cant hold up play, cant link with his team at all, and the only run he knows is a flat turn and sprint.
Doesn't know how to press defenders as he charges straight at them and allows them to pass around for fun.
And we let him have the no9 shirt even though we wouldve sold him in a heartbeat if recruitment couldve got their finger out.
Barry looks very average now but at least there's the slight potential that he finds his feet.
Beto's feet are concrete boots

I’ll say it, honestly the worst “footballer” I’ve ever seen play for Everton.

Can’t trap a ball, can’t run properly, can’t really do anything that’s required on a football pitch.
