2025/26 Beto

My last post on my love for this man:

I'm definitely not a multi like someone stated and I'm honestly NOT taking the piss!

When I think of Beto I am reminded of last year, and some of the miniscule chances he was given in between..

So what do I think when I think of Beto?

Immediately I think of scrambles in the box and chances for us, because that is literally what would happen with him being on the field for less than 10 mins, almost every time!

He makes things happen(When playing to his strengths) and is a constant threat, and he sits on the bench EVERY week.

For me Beto is a true striker, it's literally what he does.

He has one way of playing and that is it.

You can either play to his strengths or try to get him to be some "Premier League" level puppet(AKA - DCL/Barry) that will do as you instruct.

This is not an option for Beto and it will never happen.

Sometimes I see people accuse Beto of being offside when he shouldn't be.

NO - Players do not give him the ball quick enough, he has really good movement!

Anyway this is on DM, my love and best wishes for Norberto can only go so far..

Best of luck my friend.
A true striker.

Hasn't done his job for months.

Would've been offside too even if he scored that

Been a big backer of Beto since he arrived, I was happy enough going into this season with him as our starting striker based on his goals per min prior to Moyes and his run following.

But honestly, since like this spring, he's just been a catalogue of missed chances. I feel I've seen him fail to get on the end of ball flashed across the goals about 10 times this season alone now.

I think we'd get some return on him from an Italian side who need a proven goalscorer in that league, if any offer north of 15 mil came in I'd take it.

I like Beto. I love his passion. But he’s not finishing and is way too inconsistent. It is mind boggling that at Leeds, DCL has bagged 7 goals, 5 more than Barry and Beto combined. I’m not advocating for anything. Just pointing out a fact. It’s about the system, adapting throughout the game and every game having a willingness to completely change tactics. We still play hoofball to a lone, isolated striker. If that striker was Haaland, I get it. We can’t get by with that and it’s remarkably clear based on lack of goals.
leeds brentford play with 2 frontmen

with the game returning to past trends like long throws i think 442 may become a thing again
