Hello,

I am from the states and my family and I are coming over in Sept. and we are planning on going to to the West Ham game on the 16th. I have a 5 year old and a 1 yr old. I would love to take them both so that my wife could also make it but i have my reservations about bringing a 1 yr old to a game. But being as i have never been before i figured i would ask everyone's opinions on it. Also, aside from bringing them, where would be a good place to sit with kids? Obviously the family enclosure, but is there anywhere else? I'm looking at some tickets on stubhub right now that are Main Stand 4. Look like decent seats but i cant figure out how many of each class i'm getting. Its 5 tickets together and it list the classes as Adult, junior, and kids but not how many of each. Any help on this either? Sorry for all of the wordy questions but this might be the only Everton game i make in my life so i want it to be as good as possible. Thanks in advance for all your help. I wouldn`t take the one year old mate, as you`ll spend more time looking after the baby than watching the game.

Also the noise of the crowd may frighten him / her and you`ll end up potentially having to leave your seat for ages and find somewhere calmer, to sooth him / her.

Take the five year old, sit in the middle of the St End, breathe in Skunk fumes and be amazed at the sight of young lads, dressed like Polar Explorers, but with mad afro perms, stoned off their heads.

That’s what the wife is coming for

5 is the minimum age for bringing a kid to the match. Even at 5 I'd make sure they are interested enough and understand the game enough for them not to be bored. Otherwise the experience will be not a good one for you!

I'd be weary.

If you can find a way to not take your 1-year old, I would. It's an expensive day out, the more people... the lesser chance of getting "good" seats, and goodison can get quite loud. It's a cracking sentiment, but sometimes, logic should prevail.

Stubhub can be a smidge confusing, at the best of times, be sure they're not trying to flog you U-11 tickets.

You'd be silly to do this.

There are a few guys in the MS2 where i sit who take toddlers, but they seem to spend the entir game going up and down to the toilets with them, so broadly I agree with the others in that ideally the 1 year old doesnt go. however, if you really want your wife to experience it with you, then look after the youngest in turn, so you will miss as little of the game as possible. I truly hope the match is a great one for you and that the entire trip is magic, particularly as it may be the one and only time you get to visit Goodison! :)
