Hi toffees,

I am from Australia and will be seeing Everton for the first time in my life tomorrow at Newcastle and I’m beyond excited. I was wondering if I could get any advice/tips to get the best experience out of the day. For example is there any “blue” pubs or meeting points where our fans get together before and or after the game?

Any help would be appreciated.

Pull some absolute munter and then shiver like someone walked over your grave with every flashback for the rest of your life. It’s the only way.

St James is only a few minutes walk from the city centre so everyone will be in town till quite close to kick off. Most Blues will be in one of the pubs near the railway station or the Weatherspoons ( Union something ? ).

Oh, in case you've got asthma, use the lift at the ground to get to your seat, they're a bloody long way up !

Due to the hostility/hatred from the local police, we don't seem to be welcomed anywhere but I'm sure you'll find somewhere as you're Australian.

As stated, the police are horrific with awsy fans so don’t wear too much in the way of colours.

I live up here and it is actually a fantastic city apart from the epic levels of delusion regarding how “big” their team is. You get any bollocks on that score just ask why they have given away (yes, for free) 10 000 half season tickets.

Having been to Newcastle many times mate, can I safely say that the city centre is an absolute toilet, populated by fat aggressive mutants, both male and female.

The only place I`d even dream of going to is Jesmond - it`s as upmarket as you are going to get in Newcastle.

Loads of bars and restaurants and the chances are you won`t get your face ripped off for not coming from Newcastle.

There`s a wonderful pub at the back of the main drag in Jesmond ( Osbourne Rd ) called - The Collingwood Arms.

It`s a beautiful old pub, populated by non aggressive NORMAL people, serves wonderful cask ale and lagers, plus they do gorgeous, well priced food.

I speak from experience !!!!
