Best series of The Wire

Season 2 for me. Really didn't like the first few episodes on first viewing but once you get used to the different scenarios of season 1 then the payoff is so much more rewarding.
Love the Sobotkas.

The first time I watched series 2 I hated it . Only after watching it multiple times since has it become the best out the lad imo .

I thought Mackay seemed a clear enough monster and a-hole from the off!

He was, but all the way through he was portrayed as loyal and selfless when it came to his crew, willing to fall on his sword for them.

That's what makes the last episode genius, as it turns the whole series on its head.

Then later watch it from the start
I found the juxtaposition of the fake murders and the fake news feeding on each other amusing.

Series one for me.

It's one of the best things ever made, but I preferred the Shield.

The Vic Mackay character is one of the best anti heroes ever created imo and the fact that Forest Whittaker and Glen Close had serious parts in it, tells of the respect that it had.

The last ever episode of the Shield is a true jaw dropper and horrendous at the same time.

They were all good episodes - great tv series - not the best tv series ever though - people's taste breaking bad was up there imo!
There's many a series you could claim as the best - the Wire is up there with them!
