A lot of nice areas around Liverpool.

Formby is nice and around that area. Some nice areas on the Wirral too, just avoid Birkenhead and Leasowe.

You're only a taxi ride from the Lisbon as well.

Hahahahahahahahaha!

No.
i lived there for a while.

It is posh, unless you go live on the hidden away council estates then the areas are lovely and posh.

When i was a kid i used to go the park round the corner from my house in the close, never had any trouble. Or even going down by the fields or under the flyover thing, never any trouble or danger to an 9 year old me.

First time I've ever heard Whiston referred to as posh.

Depends what you're after, if you're discounting big cities then the rural Scotland shouts are good, there's also some nice places on the Llyn peninsula (north wales) even somewhere like Harrogate.

All depends on what you're looking for in depth

if you are planning on working in London and want to live in an actual house then Chelmsford is fantastic, I moved there 6 years ago and its a lovely place, 35 minutes on the train into central London but far enough out of London to feel like you are a long way away. For the price of a 1 bed flat in London u can get a 2 or 3 bed house too.

Don't think I'll be living in London mate.
From what I can gather from the people that have lived & worked there it doesn't sound like my kind of thing.

Bristol is very nice. I lived there for a couple of years and would happily move back there. Housing can get very expensive in certain parts of the city though (Clifton) and old uni friends of mine who still live there say the traffic, which was never good, has become ridiculous.

Oxford is lovely, but obviously very expensive.

Swerve Brighton with all the power you can muster - if you suspect London would not be your thing then Brighton, being a dirtier, cheaper copy will equally let you down.

I'm beginning to wonder why I haven't moved to Scotland myself actually.

If it's within the NHS you might want to bring forward your plans asap!
Does it have beaches?

Torbay it ain't...also the 'Mid' bit in Mid Wales should be a give away.

You'll have to learn to drive properly though...none of this giving way when turning left, actually Indicate BEFORE you change lanes, no tailgating and ffs learn how to drive on roundabouts...oh and btw red light aren't optional

Do you really, really want to do this or do you need to do it...I've spent many years in both places and I know where I'd live.

Widnes.

Lovely fresh, clean air, friendly and welcoming locals. Lots of new housing estates being built too.

What's not to love?

I want to do it mate.
Will probably come back to NZ though, do love it here.

Looking at relocating to the UK in the future i.e. next 5 years.
Where has been the best place to live and work for you?
Will be likely working within the NHS.

Good luck with the move Kiwi.

Most of the big cities, including Liverpool, are now overcrowded gridlocked hellholes. The weather is crap all year round, and we are all miserable and living beyond our means.

I hope I haven't put you off?
