Best 'Finishers' To Ever Grace The Game

It was a real shame van Basten was cut short by injury. He would have been one of the all time greats I think, even more so than he already is. The most complete striker I've ever seen. As for Papin he has to go down as an unfulfilled talent. Went to Milan as part of their Dream Team and fell through the cracks.
He was just awesome, absolutely lethal in front of goal. I loved the Milan of him, Gullit and Rijkaard. Most probably the best football team I've seen in my lifetime (apart from the Kendall Blues in the mid-80's of course).(y):D

I agree. That Milan team of the early 90's was the best I've ever seen. Ironically it was when the Dutch inspired team started to break up that they reached their nirvana with the 4-0 trouncing of Barcelona's very own Dream Team in the Champions League final. By far the best club display I've ever seen. Savicevic that night was inspired.

Romario and Ronaldo...only other person worth a mention imo..

Trezeguet...

Apps: 396 Goals: 220

...Maybe Larsson too...

This was my personal favourite moment from that Milanese dream team. They just humiliated Real Madrid on that night and it could've been much worse for them. Alway love to see Madrid getting a good hiding and this was one of the best.:D

Speaking of Madrid, anyone already mentioned Hugo Sanchez in this thread?

That is good viewing there Dutch. Oddly I chose Inter as my Italian team because I liked the Mathaus/Klinsman/Brehme team they had back then. They've killed many a good striker down the years.

YouTube - Milan - Barcellona 4-0 [Finale Champions League Atene 1994] is the CL final when they demolished Barca.

Seems odd looking back to the days of just three foreigners per team. I remember in that 94 CL Man Utd had some problems fitting players in and got thrashed 4-0 by Barca with Romario and Stoikov running riot. Of course the coach of that Milan team was none other than Fabio Capello.

As a Scotsman, Denis Law!...

Christian Vieri has an amazing goals to game ratio and was one of the all-time best from about '95-'05.
