Used to really like Toffeeweb, but it just got old. It was particularly good when the site owner / editor got really ratty with regular posters. Regular occurance actually. Not just "yer banned, tit" but proper slanging matches. The other fella who acted as mod / editor (Lyndon) was forever firefighting lol.

But nothing beats this place, everyone's at it. Kipper... I mean, it had a section dedicated to Everton tattoos. I'm fairly sure they weren't being ironic either.

I used to read toffeeweb a lot but it became monopolised by the same old boys chatting rot.

Shame cos I think lyndon in particular does a good job.

I missed the final one I think. Not sure why exactly. But one day it just wasn’t there.

That forum in the early to mid 2000s was peak internet for me. That was when forums and SM truly developed as a medium/‘thing’.

Everything since has felt a bit derivative of that.

Actually want to add to this a bit as it’s a bit like your first favourite band.

Everyone has a band that is ‘theirs’. One where you are in the right time and the right place and that band captures that moment in time. You can appreciate that other bands that came before and after might be ‘better’ or regarded more highly by others but ‘your’ band will always be held in higher regard by you because it was more than just the music. It captured something bigger. That’s kind of the feeling I’m talking about.
