Luang Prabang is my favourite. Utterly tranquil bit of Laos situated on a lazy meander of the Mekong where it meets the Nam Khan river surrounded by hills and jungle. nice food and beer, friendly locals. Small enough to walk round in an afternoon.
Never spent more than 7 days in anywhere i haven't lived... based on just short trips I'd have to go Rome.
London. Has everything you can want in a city.
New York gets my vote.
