Yobo has had 5 plus years to bed into the team he's only just now starting to look like he's got rid of those stupid mistakes. Yobo also has this great nack of giving away free kicks around the box when there is absolutely no need for it. I'd prefer him to **** the ball into row Z then to give away a free kick on the edge of the box.

Jagielka has been in the side less then a full year, wait till he's bedded into the team and he'll be top class. It's a bit hard to play a pass into midfield when Carsley has turned his back to you and the only option is the long ball to Yakubu. Carsley doesn't show for the ball, consequently Jags has to play a long ball it's really that simple. No nonsense, plays with his heart on his sleeve and doesn't give up. I can't wait till he's bedded into the side and he's trying some of those piledrivers he has hit for Sheff Utd.

Yobo give free kicks away outside the box? I go to most matches and I've never seen him consistently do that. He rarely does it.

I think they both have there strengths and weaknesses and neither is the perfect centre half. At the moment the best combination is Neville-Yobo-Jagielka-Lescott.

I agree on Carsley. His lack of wanting the ball is a big reason why Jags, Yobo and Lescott have no other option but to hit it long.

i would like to see jags - yobo- lescott- baines

dont see why not there the best defenders we have so why not try it.
i think we did once at derby but then that was it after that.

i agree, that's possibly the best back 4 & it would be interesting to see moyes try it out now & again.

however, with the recent lack of bodies for our midfield it would have been interesting to see the following :-

......jagielka yobo lescott
neville ..................... baines

yeah not a bad idea but from there how would the midfield plan out and the strikers and who?

well recently, as i mentioned, we've been a bit short of bodies in midfield & this option may be better than pairing neville with carsley in central midfield. we've had matches where this sytem could have been employed behind carsley as the holding midfielder with either 2 or 3 of our more skilfull midfielders in front of him & then either 1 or 2 up front.
