Going of the title, best five strikers seen playing for Everton. I don't think Rooney improved that much for Man Utd. In fact, his best ever form was at the Euro 2004 BEFORE his move to United IMO. When Rooney picked the ball up at Goodison, it was enough for people to get up on their feet thinking something will happen.

1. Ferguson
2. Rooney
3. Lukaku
4. Yakubu
5. Cottee

There is no doubt that Lukaku is the best finisher, IMO he's the best finisher in the league. But there is lot's missing to his game which makes others better than him.

Roy Vernon was the first 'No. 10' type of player, literally, but I did not see him as an out-and-out striker. That was Alex Young, with Vernon supporting him. Like Duncan McKenzie alongside Bob Latchford.

Still has the second best scoring rate after Dean, from the top scorers

Don't think so.

Jack Southworth: 36 goals in 32 appearances = 112.5%
Dean: 377 in 431 = 87.5 %
Fred Geary: 86 in 98 = 87.8%

Southworth & Geary were not 'top scorers' in terms of high numbers, but their scoring rate was superb. Southworth suffered a bad injury that brought his career to an end.
