nope, but I've seen him play on both wings, he's well able to trap a ball, has great close control, can turn away from players and thread a pass. He's also tough and determined. He's well able to drop in to the middle and help out. He'd be able to link the likes of Gomes and Kean. He's also fast so he'd be handy on the counter. He's obviously small so putting him up against huge yard dog defenders is a bad idea but that could also be said for playing him on the wing.
Sigs has a habit of disappearing out of games so when you get to the point where the full backs are passing to the midfielders to the wingers to the midfielders to the fullbacks and nothing is going in to the box, maybe it's an idea to see if he can unlock a defense.
It's hardly like I'm looking for Michael Keane to play 10.
So why do you supposed he's never really played as a 10 since he came over from Brazil 5 years or so ago?

I'd imagine he was by far the best option on the wing at Shaktar, there was no need to try and shoe horn him in to the team.
That's not the case now.
You're the one with the stats, why use the term "really"? Has he played at 10?

22 minutes at Shaktar.

I would just think if you want to play both Iwobi and Bernard, play Iwobi at the 10. He's much stronger with the ball, less likely to be dispossed in the middle of the field, more likely on the counter press to win a ball back or bother a big CB or DM.

In Ireland a counter press is where you keep your plates :)
but yea, I wouldnt be adverse to trying Iwobi there, I just haven't seen as much of him.

I can not see Bernard as an Attacking midfield playmaker either

the fact hes been here over 12 months and not once used like that tells us this also

attacking mids, are also a big goal threat and get their share of goals , like gylfi does year in year out.

Bernard, from what weve seen, is not composed enough infront of goal, hes had chances, he should of netted 5 or 6 more last year but hasn't got that clincal edge to his game.

sure he can beat defenders with trickery down the flank and get a half decent ball in. but playmaker isn't in his resume

Eriksen is only small and slight and he does well.enough

He's got 5 inches on Bernard.

The idea for him or Iwobi to play centrally was decent before the Wolves game but Gylfi was excellent in that game so he isn't getting dropped right after it. Maybe down the road it comes back but I'm in the camp that Bernard stays wide and Iwobi goes central.

Maradona was pretty good at 10 and he was small :)
Yea, I take the point that Bernard doesn't seem to have a natural ability to score and I don't want to see Gylfi dropped. I was more reacting to the flat out 'no' from crimehead. I don't think he should take Gylfis spot but if Silva gave him 45mins against Sheff W. I wouldn't mind.
His size and lack of goals go against him but I think he'd drag defenders all over the place and free up a lot of space while also being able to set up a lot of chances.
Like I say, not a permanent thing, I'd just be curious to have a look and see how he does.

So to be clear, I like him as a player. I'm not saying it's insane, but I'm also thinking it's a bit of a tough ask for the guy.

He definitely needs to start at Wednesday assuming he doesn't Sunday just to stay sharp. The bench role suits him as he can really take on tired players easily. Just needs a bit of composure and end product as that double crossing chance he had last week should really have been an assist on one of them.
