2019/20 Bernard

This lad has started to have more and more influence on the game since Carlo has been encouraging him to drift into the middle of the park rather than hug the touchline. If this improvement continues and we can get him to actually last 90 minutes then the left side/drift inside position/10 is his. I'd just like to see him score a few more to be honest.

Let's have some fun: which PL teams does he start more games for than their current LW?

My list is under 10 teams.

Its a bit snide this as every team plays differently so might not want Bernard for that reason, but I imagine even Leicester would like him, LFC, Man City, Spurs have enough of that type of player, Chelsea maybe, not Arsenal, maybe even Man U cos they havve very little creativity going forward more power and pace. Apartfrom that, I dont think the relegation clubs apart from Watford, Bournemouth and Norwich would take him...so not many obvious, whereas Richarlison many people would take in any case.

I know there's a lot of variables but I was basically just asking myself if I'm Villa for example, am I starting Grealish or Bernard more or if I'm United am I starting Rashford or Bernard. It's not as many Bernard is clearly the choice teams as you might think without going all the way through.

I'm also not shocked that you're not interested in offering any kind of reasoning

There’s literally no point. You have a bizzare hard on for criticising him because he doesn’t fit your stat model.

People who are at the game appreciate him and understand how good he is. Got a huge standing ovation as he walked past 3 parts of the ground as he was subbed off.

But sure, you do you and say he’s bad.

The fans clapped a lot is now the metric for whether a player is good or not. Sound.

have a breather would you. Who does the guy have to impress - The fans and the manager. So yeah, 3 stands of standing ovations from the fans who go the game is a very good metric for how he’s playing.

It is if you're being obtuse.
I'd expect our fans to give an appreciation to any of our players when they come off so if they do that does that mean every player is good? I mean clearly not.

You can like someone and be honest about their ability. Or at least in theory you can. Our fans seem to struggle.
