What's the problem with having a release clause? All players have a price on their head whether it's written in the contract or not.

If he has a great season and helps the team improve we make a profit and we're in a better position to sign more decent players to keep improving.

I have no idea how this guy is. So can anyone tell me how he is going to fit into the starting 11? I thought our starting wingers were sorted? Who is dropping out or how isn’t to be shuffled?

Which will be addressed. However if we are in a position to sign a player of his ability then it's an absolute no brainer and in all likelihood will enhance our standing in world football, thus enhancing the chances of getting the centre half(s) we need.
