Take the 15M left over from the last window, say another 20M from the recent jump in sky sports money, and factor in a 15M investment by the board looking to finish top four, and that's 50M to spend this January at a conservative estimate.

There is absolutely no chance we will ever sign Lukaku. Youve got to be realistic about this. Chelsea value him very highly as a long term prospect. His market value is around 30 million and Chelsea arent even looking to sell. Even if we make the top 4 he will still be back at Chelsea and then why would they sell him?
I genuinely mean when i say there about a 1% chance of us signing him permanently and thats only if Chelsea went bust or something.

I think nearly everyone knows that mate, as for the topic post i would take benteke without a second thought, he's a top top striker

He's probably the closest in terms of size, style and ability to Lukaku. There would be immense competition for him though

Villa bought him for about £7m, after last season his value went up to about £25m. At the moment it's probably back down to about £20m. After he scores his next brace/hat trick it'll probably go up to about £30m.

I'd love him here, but I'd be very surprised if we could afford him.

He's excellent at chipping the ball over the keeper. We could use that. I think he's class, he put that squad of pimpily faced teenagers on its back last year.

Hopefully he won't do as well this year. Maybe he's not Lukaku but he'd be a very good replacement.
