Benidorm

...you might have been better having the 2nd part of your trip with your pals!!!

I went in 1978. Oh dear.

I was there once, in 1977.

Brought my then bird with me.

Best thing I ever did.....we both realised we would not be good living together so split up amicably a few months later.

Nowadays we are the best of friends and I consider her husband one of my best pals :)

My mates dad had an apartment in Denia (about 50k from Benidorm) so me him and another mate went there for a "golfing holiday" about 10 years ago... once we realised it was way too hot to play golf with a hangover we ended up driving an hour to Benidorm every night, partying til about 6 then driving an hour back along the coast to sleep. Got some great beak there and hooked up with some extraordinarily dirty lasses. Saw sticky vicky too, she can open beer bottles with her fadge.

Best golfing holiday ever

I was there Thurs - Mon last week mate.

Twenty of us went for a load of birthdays.

It's a great place, as you can make of it want you want :

Here's a quick guide to the place :

The bad : The strip - three / four streets of bars. It's full on and its what people imagine Benidorm to be like.
( there's now some seriously dodgy Russians who are running titty bars - avoid them like the plague ).

In and around the strip there's pickpockets and muggers. They send a pretty girl over to talk to a piss head
and then either dip them or fellas come out of the shadows and mug them - a mate got done when I was there.

The good :

The beach and beachfront is stunning, as good as anywhere. Spotless beach and the sea is safe / clean.

The bars on the beach front are superb. Loads have cover bands on and all have non stop footy -UK, Spanish and German.
I saw an AC/DC cover band in the Daytona Bar, who were as good as any I've seen.

You can't spend you're money, even the pound is crap - a pint costs around £1.50, a decent meal costs a fiver.

The Old Town ( where I stay ) has fantastic authentic tapas bars, great shops, a mix of locals, gay lads ( small gay area there ) and a few Brits. It's dead chilled and that end of the beach is the best for food due to it being the Spanish end.

It's been cleaned up massively and the local police are s**t hot on over the top drunkenes.

If you're over thirty mate, I'd head for the Old Town and avoid the Strip like the plague.

I love the place mate, as there's something there for everyone.

Cheers mucker. You've answers everything I was wondering about! Appreciate it

Just head for the Old Town end of the beach and you can't go wrong.

There's an alley that's just full of authentic tapas bars, selling all kinds of tapas and you can be buy quality wine by the glass there too.

Considering the British have turned a lot of the place into " Little England " the locals are sound too.

You'll have a great time mate x
