Agreed. Scandalous that in an already crap squad our manager has frozen out the only left back we have and is playing a right footed centre back there. Utterly crazy - and that fat pleb has the nerve to talk about putting the team first.

Agreed in a way. Think he has the basic tools to build on - he's quick, brave, and not an awful passer of the ball. Centre-back wise the real talent develops with support and experience (from reading the game, positioning etc.).

Feel sorry for him really, as he needs to be alongside an experienced, confident quality centre back who can tell him where to be and cover his mistakes. Not really had the space or room to grow since joining the club, not had a run of games alongside a good centre half, often being used as a utility player in full back positions.

Instead he is having to dig himself out by just relying on his bravery and commitment. Looked good yesterday but only by virtue of being in the game - was put under regular attack by Palace, who clearly identified him as a weak link in the side
