He is a prime example of our poor recruitment. How we can pay 20 mill for a player with limited ability is beyond me.

He has pace to burn and can put in the odd good tackle. The rest of his game is awful.

Still fuming with him. I've seen under 10s do a better job of clearing their lines. The worst centre back in this division by a country mile.

He's got no footballing intelligence and lacks basic footballing technique. "He's an athlete".

It isn't limited ability. He has the ability but he doesn't have the attitude.

Always seems to take up relatively better positioning when played at LB, but as a CB his reading of the game is woeful. I do think the ability's there, but a footballing brain always gets a player much further, irrespective of their ability.

He didn’t completely miss kick a simple clearance straight to one of their players because he had Covid 6 months ago. An after effect of Covid isn’t becoming crap at football.

Sick to the back teeth of these excuses our fans make for players. Gomes is crap because he broke his ankle 3 years ago and was out for 8 weeks, Godfrey is crap because he had a cough 6 months ago. No, they’re just awful footballers.

Godfrey was a [League 2 - edited] player a few years ago. Given his last few performances, you can see why he was playing at that level. He's certainly got the athleticism of a Premier League player but I think that often masks his lack of know-how, poor awareness and the fact that he can't read the game. He also struggles with some of the basics like passing, heading and clearing his lines - as we saw last night. This could be his second relegation in 3 seasons.

He’s never played non-league football.
