I agree though, I would've preferred we went in for a keeper and left signing a longer term CB for this summer. I think Gibson and Branthwaite could have been stop gaps.

I aint DOF but maybe Brands could have signed a Johnny Evans for £5 million or the Turkish lad Leicester have for under £20 million.

Hell Moyes signed Jags, Lescott, Distin for less than £18 million combined. He goes with the same types of signings - players with attention spans who dont read the game and we are caught out of position at the back all the time.

Even Iwobi is like this and whilst he played well today defensively he just doesnt read the game well enough.

Looks an alright kid, has good fundamentals but simply can't play as a right-back.

Give him a go next to Keane if Holgate isn't fit. Mina should be near the first team after today.

That "Turkish lad for £20m" was also badly average when he arrived. This lad has played 2 games in positions he's not used to.

It was a great piece of skill but it also means Godfrey had been utterly done which isn't ideal defending either.

Great defenders get done by great pieces of skill.

There's even a long-standing gif of Boateng because of it.
