Transfer Rumour Ben Doak

Moyes not sure about Alcaraz. 2+1 year deal for a lad of his age does scream confidence.

If we are truly interested it would be interesting to see the length of the contract. That would give us a view of whether we are backing him to succeed or not
I'm just looking at Doak's injury history and lack of Prem expérience v Alcaraz having the experience, being fit🤞🏻and passing Moyse "can he put a shift in" test. For me any more than 10m and we've had our pants pulled down.

We will only know two seasons in I guess.

Moyes not going for a longer contract for Alcaraz just seems odd to me (might not be Moyes). I think Alcaraz is worth more than we paid - perhaps he didn’t want a longer contract contract and hopes to bounce to somewhere bigger

alcaraz is worth a good bit more, that was just the price set
He is,but he's everything that Doak isn't. I'm doubting we have a lot to spend this window,so spending the amount quoted on Doak would be very risky. We do need a wide right forward but he should at the very least have decent fitness.Broja should have taught us it's vital.

….as @Zatara informed us, Broja was a long time target of Thelwell and we should be thankful to him for bringing the player to our club, so I’d be hopeful the new regime have much better selection criteria. I’d be wanting us to be much more effective in the loan market, assuming we have to exploit it.

Liverpool really do not get it wrong when they decide a player isn't good enough. If they're willing to sell him to us, they're very confident it won't come back to bite them.

I think it's more the fact that they have Salah in his position and he's a player that they think they can get decent money for in a summer when they're splashing the cash.

Salah is 33, if they thought Doak was good enough to even be his cover they'd be keeping him given the 13 year age gap. They wouldn't be selling to us if they thought he could kick on to a high level, and they have his medical records.

Except Solanke obviously
Even then he's had one decent season in his career since leaving. His fee was ridiculed for years before last season. Didn't exactly set the world alight at 17th placed tottenham either

I don’t care if Liverpool think he’s good enough for them, they’re a super league mega club with unlimited funds and are currently going around cherry picking Europe’s top talents. We aren’t and probably will never be anywhere close to their level.
