I live just outside Belfast and can't recommend it highly enough now for a long weekend break. The change in the place over the last 15 years is incredible. Titanic centre is worth a look around, the black taxi ride previously mentioned, St George's market, Queens, City hall, Stormont gardens and a walk from Belfast castle up onto Cavehill overlooking the city would be the main tourist attractions in Belfast off the top if my head. As others have said I would really recommend hiring a car and driving up the Antrim coast road from Carrick castle up to the giants causeway. You'll always have a good night in the bars in Belfast (Laverys/Hudson/Cathedral Quarter in general) and the amount of amazing restaurants that have opened in last 5 years is incredible. I highly recommend Howard St, Ginger, Il Pirata to name a few. I'm starting to sound like NI tourist board!

Thank you for that. I'm definitely going to go.

I live outside Belfast and would definitely recommend you come over on a visit. Belfast is quite a small city particularly the centre.
You say your interested in the Titanic then there is no better place, the Titanic Building is worth seeing in itself as are the cranes which dominate the skyline in that part of east Belfast. No one has mentioned the Nomadic, this is one of the ltenders which used to service the Titanic, it is the last ship of the White Star Line and has been fully restored and is docked in the Titanic Quarter.
There is great night life in Belfast and it is very safe.
If you are here at the weekend you should visit St George's Market. There has been plenty of recommendations for other sights. The bus tour will bring you around most of them.
If the Assembly is back up and running I recommend a visit to Stormont; you can have a good laugh at the eejits.

I've always had a fascination with the story of the Titanic. I was thinking of having a weekend in Belfast to visit the exhibition. Has anybody been? Would you recommend it? And, if I do go, what else could I see in Belfast while I'm there. Cheers.

Hey. I work in Belfast and live just outside it.

The titanic centre actually got voted the world's best tourist attraction by one of the big papers in the US. Now I wouldn't quite go that far, but it's a great little place to visit.

Belfast is an actual vibrant place these days. Good food, good company and good craic. As others have said, if you're into the history of the place then the cab tour is very enjoyable. Just whatever you do, do not watch any local football!! lol
