Ear plugs.

Also call the police.

I rang the police recently for a noisy neighbour issue (at 3am) and was told that it is no longer a police issue, and they gave me a council hotline to ring. The lady there took my details and sent me a Noise Diary out in the post. Great.

So I got the mrs to ring the police back and say someone was being attacked nextdoor. They were round in 5 minutes.

To be fair, it was loud music (house shakingly loud) interspersed with domestic violence so I didn't feel like I was wasting police time.

Must be the silly season and I need a little help with this. Got a neighbour a few doors away in a 2 up 2 down. He's only got a small back yard because he's built an extention. This extention takes up the whole yard except for a 6ft x 3ft space near the gate. Now this isnt the problem I'm just drawing you a picture. Anyway he's got a big Alsation locked in that space that constantly barks through the night. I've had words with this clown but theyve fell on deaf ears and I've even threatened him. Not a good thing to do to a neighbour I know. He lives on his own like I do and leaves the dog out while he's at work so he doesnt have to listen to it. Anyway today is the last straw. Been pissin down all night and I've been kept awake with the howling. I got up at 5 this morning and this poor dog has been howling because its distressed and soaked and lying in its own piss and [Poor language removed]. Other neighbours talk about it but wont go and see him. Thats been left up to me because I think theyre scared of him and am fooked off with it. Now he's gonna be out till about 2 and I'm tempted to break his teeth when he comes in am that mad about it. Surely what he's doing is cruel to the dog. Now I dont like the idea of making phone calls about anyone but I think it might be the only way to help the dog. It's either that or I kick the back gate off and let it go but then theres a danger it'll get run over and I couldnt forgive myself for that. Sorry for soundin off about it just wanna feel am doin the right thing.

RSPCA mate. They'll call the police to gain access and they'll probs prosecute as well the soft arsed blert.

So its a good case for cruelty then Reidy?

If the dogs been kept in the conditions you say, defo.

In the United Kingdom, cruelty to animals is a criminal offence for which one may be jailed for up to 51 weeks and may be fined up to £20,000
Animal Welfare Act 2006

My neighbour had an annoying dog.

Then one night it mysteriously dissappeared.

I know what your sayin mate but its not the dogs fault. Am waitin for the housin officer to get back to me and see where we can go from there. Am back on nights tonight and am fooked cos of no sleep. Cant be havin this goin on all the time. nice one for the replies guys.

If you smash him in the teeth, you will feel better, but the dog will still bark.

The slow, official way is defo the best, at least your more likely to get closure, then when its all sorted, mask up and smash the tw@t everywhere.

RSPCA mate...if they see that the animal is distressed they will force an entry with the help of the police and rescue the dog. I reckon he would be looking at a fine and getting banned from keeping animals

Oh and if you still feel like chinning him...do it one dark night with no witnesses, have your alibi sorted... and make it good so that he remembers

This. The R.S.P.C.A are good at dealing with these type of situation. They'll remove the dog if it cruelly treated.

alright mate, stressful times.

I know its tempting to have it out with people, but what If i said there was a whole team of people waiting to help you and do all the elbow work. Yes the Old Bill need to be paid for something. Try and play within the rules and you've got more chance of winning.

Take some pics of the dog lying in its own crap and report him. Failing that call your local Korean takeaway....

don't chin him tho....we need you on here, not in HMP.
This.

Strange as it seems, the RSPCA will get this sorted far quicker than the Bizzies or the Council, they don't need months of noise logs, or a couple of warning visits, if they turn up and the dog's living in Squalid conditions, dog is removed and legal proceedings may be started. They're your best bet.
