Beer, revisited

Quite enjoying stouts, porters, and dark lagers at the moment.

Discovered a tremendous porter ny the Fownd brewery (King Korvak's champion Porter). Not sure if it's one common outside the Midlands, but tremendous stuff. Ignore the glass.

Dabbled with one of Sainsbury's taste the difference beers last night. Chocolate orange stout. Worth a sniff.

Portugal's attempt at dark beers is a bit hit and miss. Preferred Sagres' take on dark beverages. The Super Bock stout wasn't great.

Standard Super Bock? Yes!

Keep an eye out for their Abadia, its a darker maltier affair, really good.

I did have a few excellent Impy stouts too.

Whereabouts are you?

All my years working in Real Ale and Craft Beer this beer in my opinion is the best expression of single hoop brewing to come from the British isles.

We don't really get the 500ml bottles of Citra up north because Kernel tend to take care of the their London/Southern markets first which is completely fine, but a bugger for us Northerners ha.

I ran Craft pub in Soho called The Lyric and every Friday morning I'd get 2 kegs of this and 2 IPAs and both would be gone by 6 o'clock.

Londis on Penny Lane got 12 in today much to my amazement.

I realise this is an incredibly long winded post for one beer but I can't street how good this is,if you see it,buy it👍

I’ve seen that in bottles before, but never drank it, sounds really nice 👍

Quite strong for an IPA too !

Tried two new brews yesterday :

Almost a brown ale, or old ale (can you still get these?), it reminded me of bitters of yesteryear ; it'd be a great session beer due to it's abv and it is really rather very nice.

This was a close second. Not overly spicy, another type of bitter which suits this old antediluvian. :)

There were some idiots in a queue at the bar, needless to say, I didn't, and got served before those sheep.

I first got it for the pub in 2013... nothing has come close to a single hopped pale than their Citra.

It's absolutely sensational, the branding is basic which kind of turns people off because so many cans these days are eye catching, but they do it for that reason.

They also do Table beers,Stouts and Saisons but the single hopped Pale & IPAs are their bread and butter.

So happy I've managed to grab a bundle👌
