The US distribution laws are really weird. Very hard to get state to state (unless you are a marco-brewery). Loads of the US haven't even tried SN Pale Ale, yet its everywhere in the UK. That's correct ins't it @SerenityNigh ?
Yo broU.S. Has a three tier division between brewer/distributor/reseller. Brewers can sell some product directly (growlers, brewpubs), but I'd guess the margins will be small because you'd have to buy from the distributor. It's obviously being done, but maybe that's why the options aren't as great.
