Have a look at this place when you get the chance for Bulgarian beers when you're back.

Ship in a Bottle ( Two shops in Merseyside ).

There's quite a few other similar places who do World beers too.

Ah well I live in Glasgow, like, so Merseyside shops aren't really much of a help here, but I'll check out what Glasgow has to offer lol That looks like a good shop though!

Fairly sure I've checked before but never found anything, maybe a more in-depth search is in order here! We're not that good on beers anyway, more famous for wines tbh.

Went to Rio early July, and last weekend (the Citeh match weekend), went on a 30+ hour roadtrip to Curitiba with a bunch of Paraguayo craft beer nuts/brewers for the Bodebrown Beer Train.

Brazil has an impressive craft beer scene going on. Really taking off.

Got dragged to Formby today to have a look at a bathroom shop that was closed, and spotted red star brewery there, anyone had any of their stuff? We are going back tomorrow so will try and pop in.

I don't know how you spend your days in Asuncion, but seems like you could do much worse than start up a craft brewery.

did a blog entry on the beer here, will be doing another shortly on the Bodebrown Beer Train.

my job has gone from 45-50 to 60 per week, for starters. don't have the money or language command to start, let alone all the various gringo taxes. starting up a business here as a foreigner is beyond a PITA* so great are the fears of money-laundering. the beer laws here are stupid as well, though hopefully will change. then again, not likely before i'm headed elsewhere.

my friends here make better beer than I could hope to. great gear - copper plate cooling system, fridge to store the beer in and keep it at temp (cannot do in my apartment) ... but they cannot sell beer if they wanted to. they are basically limited to holding one AcervaPY (craft brewer association) event per quarter. They get around that by selling admission to the event, then beer for free.

there are a couple craft breweries, but even the biggest, Sajonia, makes beer in such limited quantities that they sell out right quick.

and again, the whole reason i know all of what's going on





* a canuck friend of mine started a wrestling venture, Luchando En Las Americas. for the longest time couldn't find a bank to work with him as the start-up capital was coming from Canada. company was joint CA-PY. EVEN WITH THE PRODUCT ON TV on some lesser cable channel it was an issue. FFS find another company where the proof is literally on TV. as he put it, "i'd have to be the dumbest money launderer in the world to put my face on tv every week."

It's good to be busy, at least if you enjoy what you're busy with. Hope you're enjoying your time in the Americas.

*Have a friend living in Cordoba and thought, "can't be that far away..." so I pulled up Google Maps. Argentina is a big place...
