I am happy to that Theakston discovered the way to make Old Peculier. What a beautiful and complex beer.
Doom Bar is a beer that really splits opinion, as it‘s served in so many places that don’t look after it and as result can be a bit average to crap.
However, every now and again you’ll find somewhere that looks after it and it’s a really nice pint.
London Pride is the same.
I think you're being a bit generous there. In most places, it's akin with a vinegar and treacle mix.

On that topic, Northern Monk Heathen 7.2%(hence the 2/3rds) quite subtle flavour with a bit of a kick as it goes down.
Neither have I. It's palatable from a bottle, yet it's not really a favourite. I do think, however, some of this is because of the terrible experiences I've had...

Menabrea is a nice chilled bottled beer. Sweetish.
The only thing I can really say in its defence, is it’s not as bad as Greene King !
Both are bland and generic, but I‘ve never had s decent pint of Greene King anywhere.
I honestly do not know why they even bother brewing the stuff because I can't believe anyone drinks their tripe.

It's sad when you're gasping for a pint in a place you haven't been before, and the only pub you can find is Greene King - Guinness it is then, and you can be sure it'll be as cold as drinking melting ice cubes.
