Beer, revisited

After having trying to avoid the heaving masses whilst trying to do some shopping I was badly in need of some sustenance. Some lovely beers consumed :

Creamy and delicious.

I do like a milk stout and this was very easy to drink. Can't say though I tasted ice cream.

In my top five ales, so, so, nice.

Well stoked now for the election results.

Working my way through a box of mixed beers. Just opened a bottle of McEwans Levy. It's described as a traditional Scottish beer. However, its strength is just 3.2%. Does that sound like traditional Scottish?

Naw. You're better off with McEwans Champion Ale at a hefty 7.6%, tasty too.

Well stoked now for the election results.

I'm a huge fan of Trapper's Hat and the fact that it's a session ale makes it even more appealing. Paddy (Everyman) had it on regularly for Friday's most weeks.

Their Oyster Catcher oat meal stout is something special too.

'Dry hopped beer flavoured with rum infused oak chips'. So it's a Belgian style ale with a twist of the Caribbean and very nice it is too. More importantly its £2.99 for 750 ml. Aldi. Get on it.

Just trying out a bottle of a beer I've not come across.....its called Headspace and is brewed by McEwan's. Described as a "whisky beer" it comes in at 5.8 ABV and is quite fruity. Bought it in Asda in the 4 for £6 aisle. Not bad, think the Innis & Guinn beers are probably more to my taste, but wouldn't mind sampling a draught version if its available.

Tucking into one of those myself, nice, doesn't have that real whisky bite that I&G have, quite treacle-ish. Lovely colour.
