I’m actually getting into bitter recently. Ever since I turned 30. Must be an age drink. It’s sound but haven’t really adventured from John smiths.

That's foul language in the world of beer. If you want something mainstream, available in bottles and many pubs, try Fuller's - London Pride.

It’s nothing spectacular but it’s a solid pint if you want to get into bitter properly. From experience, it’s also difficult for them to mess it up in the cellar.
A lot of traditional style bitters seem to have been rebranded as “ golden ales “ rather than bitter too.
My favourite pint in the whole world was a well kept pint of Cains.
