Beards

Thoughts on beards?

Thankfully I don't have dense facial hair so I just run an electric razor across my face about every 2-3 days. I don't think I'd look good in a beard anyways.

I've had beards on and off for 50 years.
I tend to get fed up after a while so I shave it off, then I very quickly get fed up of shaving so I grow it again.
I normally keep it trimmed and being grey, I get the inevitable 'Oh Jeremy Corbyn' shouts. Though during lockdown I looked more like Ronnie Drew. lol

As someone who has been in a situation of having to shave more or less daily since I was about 11, I hate beards. Not necessarily when people have one, but when people talk about their beard with pride. A lot of em make it their entire personality. Gives me the impression they had to try very hard over a very long time to grow the one masculine thing they have to offer, and it angers me.

As a young sprout I tried growing a beard but I was only capable of a patchy abomination, so I abandoned it and have remained clean-shaven ever since. My ability to grow facial hair hasn't improved in the ensuing decades. This has largely been fine by me (I'm lovely to behold), but I may feel differently as I enter new phases of middle-aged facial collapse.

Tend to have a beard in the winter months, then keep to a few days growth during the summer.

Can’t remember the last time I had a proper razor / wet shave.
