I predict us 6th with the RS 7th yet getting Europa through fair play system whilst we get naff all

However I also see Sunderland getting relegated and Everton tapping up their Invest in Africa sponsership deal which stands at £20 million woof Bluenose would have some of that.

How would we do if Laudrup was in charge mate?

WRT The Fair Play table - it seems that England are 4th (behind the Scandinavian nations) - fortunately Nani has probably knocked England out of contention for a top 3 slot (based on European competition Fair Play scores) as The RS lead Fulham narrowly amongst those teams not likely to qualify for European football that might be eligible - we're down in 10th

I got this, haha. Can see Spurs collapsing just like they did last year. Joint 5th with them but we finish ahead on GD.

Ive got us 7th, with draws against Arse, Spurs and Chel. a defeat at Analfield.

if any of them turn into a win we come 6th, if 2 become a win, we finish 5th, if we win 3 or 4 then deffo 4th

I honestly think it all depends on how far in the Europa league Tottenham go. Tottenham, like us, seem to put out roughly the same starting 11 every week (bar their CBs) so fatigue could play a massive part if they have a few more extra-time away days.

If Jelavic starts slotting we could get 4th. I reckon 5th if Tottenham make the Europa League final or 6th if they don't. We have to win the so-called 'easy' games like Stoke, Fulham, Sunderland and QPR to even stand a chance. The good thing for us is that we have our fate in our own hands in that if we beat Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal we will stand a cracking chance.

.....can't be having these prediction threads. Who would've predicted Wigan H 0-3, Man City H 2-0. Que sera, sera whatever will be will be. If you have a view on the results between now and the end of the season get to the bookies and you'll win a fortune.

I had no trouble tipping an Everton win against City.

ive said it before in another thread but our fate is well and truly in our own hands. our tough run in is a blessing in disguise. we have to play the teams competing for the same spot as us so we can take points from them. last game against chelsea could be massive

I remember doing this with about 15 games left in 2004/2005 (4th place) and I got us finishing abut 7th. I remember I tried to stay as neutral as possible and just type in the most likely result.

Thing is, when you do that with Everton you always get a bleak prognosis.

The good times for our club are usually due some freakish surge in form where we beat four teams in a month (usually in february) and get a series of results nobody would have thought as likely.

Bottom line, we´re gonna have to win two of those tough away games, along with winning all our matches at home to have a remote chance of 4th or even 5th.

There's an unusual 'unknown' this season, to do with how Utd are going to take the rest of the season once they've already won it eg they play at Arsenal.

I don't think we've got a hope in hell of 4th. 5th is an odds against shot and likely to go to the last day. Without the home crowd on that last day it'd be a tough call. So, as is the Everton way, we will once again end up one place outside a Europa spot (thanks once again to lesser sides doing well in the cups).

Who'd take the offer now of a having to go and win at Stamford Bridge to get 4th?

I badly feel a change is needed due to Moyes's inability to win the games that matter however I'd go for this. I reckon it would be a bit like Villareal away and the fact that no one would give us a hope gives us more of a chance imo.

the way i read it is that because of Spurs involvement in Europa league, current lack of confidence and having the toughest run in they are not the main worry. Arsenal seem to be the one team outside the top two who regularly win without playing well. Liverpool seem to have too many of the kind of games they have been losing to threaten. We are the most unpredictable. something like our early season form and Anichebe or Jelavic starting to take their chances then we are a much better shout for fourth than our 9 to 1 suggests. We need to not slip up in games against teams with little to play for then take a point at least at Arsenal. Arsenal don't seem to easily raise their game but scrape home somehow, but can still see them dropping three or four points away and losing the man u game. so the optimistic viewpoint maybe that we can pip Arsenal on last day by winning at Chelsea. They are the kind of team who may switch off if guaranteed third and no chance of second. Then Moyes would have to go for it becuase they will score against us.
