i take it you don't rate ruby walsh then mate, he has some luck that lad, keeps getting the best nags, he only has to steer them and hang on.

Not really. I'm sure he's a fine jockey but a large part of his success comes down to the horse he's riding. You can't say that about many of the others in that list. Haye didn't win the boxing because he had a better boxing glove or something. Ennis or Idowu achieved success through their own efforts, as did Tweddle and Daley. Both Giggs and Cavendish had a lot of help from their team-mates but still I'd place both ahead of Button.

If you put Button in a Force India car he's not going to win the title. You could see that with Hamilton this year. He's not a worse driver than last year but his car wasn't as good so he finished in 5th place. Still a fine driver because he did much better than Kovalainen, I'm just not sure they're worthy of the accolade of finest British sportsmen of the year when the mechanics and designers play such a big part.
