BBC podcast on last season

Just listening to episode 6 where Iwobi and Gray are interviewed about relegation. There’s a bit where they’re asked about the pressure of being in a relegation battle, I found Grays comments particularly interesting. He said the pressure was always in the back of his mind and no one want to the pressure, they just want to come in a train etc.
Reason it jumped out to me was the not wanting the pressure bit. While they were talking about relegation, it just made me think they should always feel pressure, ideally to perform and win things. It sounded to me like him and likely a few of the others, don’t really feel any pressure to do well, only when the manure looks like it will hit the fan, is there a sense of pressure.
Might be reading to much into it, but it did resonate and remind of the old narrative that its all a bit too cozy at Finch Farm and everyone is quite happy to coast rather then their being an out and out winning mentality and pressure to perform / win amongst too many of them.
Surely, Dyche will have changed that by now.

Podcasts are my number one way to stay in touch with Everton being from Iowa in the US. The Echo's Royal Blue Podcast and The Blue Room being my two favorite. This was up my alley and a very interesting listen. It was heavy, just as last season was over 9 months. It would have been unlistenable had we been relegated. What a terrible season we had last year, hopefully we can continue to get results like today at West Ham. I would recommend listening to this though.
