I had hoped for a Jose vs Abram final, but it wasn't to be.

So, here's hoping Bayern do the business. I have a great deal of respect for German football, they make a lot of players, not that many go abroad, their womens game is second to none, they invested across the board 5-10 years ago in their stadia, and though away from the limelight for a bit, are now seeing the long term benefits of a step backwards to make two forwards.

Good for them, good for the game.

German football is deffo the most well structured in Europe.

I reckon Bayern will win but there's possibly goals in it for Chelsea as Munich have brilliant attacking players but aren't great defensively.

2-2 after 90 minutes then pens or 3-2 Bayern after extra time.

I have a certain admiration for Bayern Munich.

They have the resources to buy anyone in the world and still they prefer to have a well run club. No debts whatsoever.

I've been to Munich and that Allianz Arena is something not short of breath taking.

A few years back I watched a tv show about the club and they do invest in youth. And by investing in youth I mean that they provide for youngsters to have a proper education. So many of those who do not succeed in football do have the academics to find a job right away.

For that I'll be crossing my fingers for them.

Well done. Oh and fantastically well done for Chelski also.

If it was Dortmund or one of those boss teams they have I'd be all for it.

Bayern are the kopites of Germany.

Love German footy. I'm a proper faux euro scout.

Is the final in the Allianz?

That's the way it stands in German footy...for the moment at least. There's a few chairmen of clubs who want to go down the English route of dumping the member-majority control of German clubs which has guarded against debt and have businesses be able to come in and buy clubs out - the Hannover 96 chairman has been at the head of this movement. And Bayern's CEO Rummenigge has been pushing to restructure tv rights for the Bundesliga to be slanted toward clubs with greater market pull. Once German footy is embraced in the Far East there'll be massibe incentive for the likes of Bayern and maybe Dortmund to go it alone on tv and media deals. Ticket prices are headed that way (^^^) too.

A lot of commercial pressures to resist.

Uefa says John Terry will be allowed to lift the Champions League trophy and collect his medal should Chelsea beat Bayern Munich,
bit unfair for me if the stand in captain is the one that lead's the team to the win

It says it all about John Terry if he's prepared to go along with it.

I think its going to be Bayern 3-1 Chelsea

Chelsea have too many important players out, and may not have Cahill back. Ivanovic and Terry are the best in their defence. Bayerns attack is just to lethal.

Bayern are the most perfidious, predatory, pernicious club on earth. Think of a hybrid spoilt brat love child of Man United and Liverpool. On steroids.

This is what Bayern do:

* They regard any emerging German rival as a critical threat to their own dominance and accordingly snipe at them in the press endlessly and ruthlessly, criticising their coaching staff, their backroom staff, their club culture, and so on.

* They remind their rivals' key players - very openly - that really they should be at Bayern, or even will be at Bayern, sooner or later (a classic example of this was the pressure they exerted on Sebastian Deissler for rejecting them in favour of a move to Hertha, of all clubs... eventually though, they got their man). This indicates a policy of strengthening themselves whilst at the same time weakening major domestic threats and thereby maintaining their status as top dogs in Germany.

* They endlessly big themselves up in the German media, telling everyone that Bayern can only fail if they beat themselves. Thus if someone else is successful - like Dortmund, who had the sheer cheek to win the BL for the second year in a row last weekend - it's because Bayern lost focus, got distracted, didn't quite cope with all their injuries, etc, etc, etc. By no means was it because Dortmund are any good. That said, Dortmund's manager seems like he might know a thing or two about football which means he is automatically going to be on Bayern's next manager list, sooner or later, if not already.

* They seem to have some range of influence beyond Germany too, because UEFA's new oxymoron-esque "fair play" rules cater to the needs and circumstances of Bayern Munich more than any other single club in Europe. Basically, these new rules are a blueprint for indefinite and radically expanded domination by Bayern to the extent that, if fully implemented, even Man Utd, Barca, Milan and co will have a time of it competing with them.

So... You may say you hate Chelsea and what the Russian has done there. But it's NOTHING compared to the menace to competitive football that is Bayern Munich. Anyone on here wanting them to win so much as a toin coss has clearly no understanding of what they're really about.
