Baxter Ready?

Osman and Pienaar are experienced and have been playing for a while now. They developed physically and technically. Baxter has yet to do either.

He isn't fast, if he is then I've never seen it.

Osman made it very late because of injuries and also because of his size. Baxter has it, I'm not saying he's going to take the place of AJ, even though I would welcome it, but he certainly has the potential to make a name for himself this season, even if it is from the now 7 man bench.

I'm not trying to piss anyone off, I honestly believe he is ready for the squad. Why would Moyes play him if he wasn't ready? I know were short of numbers, but he also took him to Switzerland. Moyes knows that there is going to be a bigger squad needed for match days, and he also knows that this lad can play.

When he was playing for England in the Victory Shield - Moyes was always in the crowd keeping an eye on him, so he definitely rates him highly.

Its a senior game of football, regardless of what position the team are in. Why are you so against him? Why don't you just lighten up and enjoy the fact we have an absolute gem ready to be unveiled.

Is it classed as a senior game? Dont think it is.
Not against him, you asked whether he is ready to make the huge jump to the seniors, the answer is NO

Against the mighty preston in a pre season friendly?:lol::lol:

Get on the phone to Fabio, and move over fat manc!

Since when did freekicks which dont touch a single player have to do with the oppositions standard? A freekick is a freekick, same with the assist.

Mate, I'm not doubting his talent. He's one of the best English players coming through at the moment but I do think he needs time. He needs to get his head down and develop. I'm not being negative, just giving my honest opinion that I don't think he's ready.

Next season he'd definatly be in with a shout. I think he needs to see what he's like at reserve level first. If he comes through that then maybe Moyes will use him.

I have no doubts he'll make it here. I've watched him at his own age group and he really is a class above. He's just needs a bit more time.

I think we should keep him under wraps at least untill he signs a pro deal, i know the other big clubs are aware of him already, but would rather him out of temptations way and the lights and the cameras untill he turns pro 17 isnt it!

He should be in and out of the squad i imagine at points this season.

We are allowed to picj seven Subs this season so i believe a youngster or two will be on the bench, have been impressed with Rodwell, Jukewitz (no squad no), O Kane this preseason and Baxter obviously, Gosling looked tired tonight which is understandable hes been playing a lot of games recently and is only just bacj form the championship so i wouldnt read to much into tonights performence. Moyes speaks very highly of him. Even if One or Two form tha grouping make appearences during the season the youth system will be doing well.

whos he been playing for?

and for baxter...the lad himself is ready, but as he's only 16, moyes needs to be shrewd, we dont want him bursting onto the scene like the fat little knob ed and then we watch united rob him from us before we even get chance to get him on a proper contract.

very good display tonight, obviously technically very gifted

Neither does osman or pienaar. And baxter is quite fast, and has alot of agility.
Pienaar is one of our fastest players! I would say only Johnson, Yobo, Vaughan and Baines are faster than him. He is certainly not slow.

What is the point in asking if he is ready if you are gonna disregard any answer that differs from yours, it is all about opinion. I personally do think he is ready for the seniour squad but can see where others are coming from, and to be honest putting him in the squad when he is not ready would do a lot more damage than not putting him in and giving him a season or 2 more in the reserves. IMO

Well I don't agree with senseless opinions no. And I don't care what people think of me for having that school of thought. I like some recognise that this guy has frightening talent. As far as I'm concerned that trumps any level of experience.

HB responded against Baxter getting anywhere near the first team (even though he has just played in 2 senior friendlies) in a way I expected he would do. So I'm going to disregard that.

You see I think he is good enough to play, and I highlighted my reasons. Those who said no he isn't didn't really highlight them with any conviction. Plus they have taken what he has done tonight and dismissed it completely.

Be it because he's a RS? Scared of building him up incase he goes to Man U? Or the conventional out of the box excuse that happens on forums that - he's too young, too inexperienced, bollocks.

How many inexperienced 16 year olds take a free kick and crack it against the bar from 25 yards, and then swing in a pearler of a corner right onto the head of a player who duly scores. Not many.
