don't know lads but i rather have gave young Adam Forshaw, or James Wallace game time than bring James McFadden
back to the club, we have Shane Duffy, Luke Garbutt, Jack Bidwell played in the europa cup at 16 moyes should played
theses lads, Barkley has to get about 20 games this season some starts most maybe as a sub.

Vellios was going well early last season then moyes just stopped playing him putting Anichebe ahead of him who couldn't
score. we can't run down the Academy when the manger won't give them a chance to show what they can do.

Couldn't agree more mate.

Alright, this is slightly different. I agree with lots of that, I've long thought Anichebe was ****e and that Vellios was hard done to and should have had more game time. Same goes for Barkley. Duffy did get game time last season when Jags & Distin were injured, but he's unfortunate because there are 3 centre halves ahead of him in the pecking order. That's just the way it goes. I'd have him as Distin's long term successor though. None of these players have left though, Bidwell is still at the club but was out on loan.

Okay, Forshaw and Wallace left, but sometimes that happens. Most young players don't make it. We didn't do too badly last season all things considered.

The young players who have actually left - yeah, it's sad that they have gone because if they'd all been world beaters and come through en masse, it would have saved us money. But football isn't like that. Some of the players who have gone, the club actually wanted to keep, but the players themselves wanted out for first team football. None of them had an impact on the first team squad, and none of them will be missed.

For people asking I haven't been released by everton

As for the academy lads...they have been touted as successful products of the set up. Where have you been to have missed that for the last few years? Baxter and Wallace were, along with Barkley, the best we could produce. Two have been cut free. So that's why I say it reflects on the academy.

It doesn't. The Academy isn't just about grooming stars for Everton, it's about grooming stars for a professional career elsewhere too. Most Academy players do not make it into their club's first teams. Everton wanted to keep Wallace, but he understood he was never going to get into the first team, and having tasted first team footy at Tranmere, and having been promised the Tranmere captaincy if he signed, Wallace CHOSE TO GO.

Who knows what's going on with Baxter.

To be fair, I don't know where you've been davek, because the best products out of the EFC Academy in recent years have been Rodwell, Barkley and Duffy, all of whom have actually played for the first team and had something of an impact, far more than Wallace and Baxter ever did.

Just think, if we got rid of our acadamy and reserves how much money we'd save over the course of the season.

They're obviously either all total crap or the academy isn't doing its job of providing a small squad with players so we might as well get rid of it.

If we do ever need some players to sit on the bench to make the numbers up i'm sure we can get a young player in on loan from Portugal or somewhere to do the job.

what if everyone in portugal follows our money saving scheme, and so on and so on

Isn't there a compo rule for players under the age of 21 that leave a club?

Think so.
Dunno if that's the case if their contract runs down like gosling.
I thought he had signed for 12 months a couple of months ago,but maybe he didn't in which case i think we get nowt.

I was gonna say it would seem strange when he signed a new contract recently didn't he?

I wouldn't mind a fee for him though, not good enough imo.
