Sadly if after 30 games the manager still hasn't even bothered to try a false 9, we're never going to see it.
Genuinely Keane would be better because he wins all his headers and has scored quite a number of bangers from 25 years, as well as close-range finishes. Yes he probably wouldn't be making smart runs, but neither do these two carts.
And then it becomes even more baffling since we now have an abundance of attacking midfielders yet
Moyes hasn't thought to try
Ndiaye as a false 9.
Somebody with poise and exceptional close control, who is hard to knock off the ball, it hardly sounds like a recipe for disaster, does it? Just don't lump it up to his head.
Barry is 6 foot 5 and is brushed off the ball with ease, cannot control simple passes into him and I don't think has ever attempted a shot from outside of the area.
It's on the manager for bringing in Barry (and agreeing to spend £70 million on youngsters who were never getting a chance this season) in the first place, and it's most certainly on him for not trying something new in light of Barry and Beto being absolutely useless.
An attack of:
Would not look out of place to me. Players who will actually shoot the football, drive at defenders and look for intricate passes to open up the defence.
No idea why it isn't even be tried once. Can only assume the manager is trying to make some kind of weird point, but it's at the expense of us playing European football next season.
