It's like a slow bicycle race between two tortoises, this, but even in that context Beto is currently way ahead. He is at least affecting games occasionally. Barry looks lost. I can't really understand how our manager and our competent professionals have brought in so many players who seemingly cannot make an immediate impact - or even show signs of making ANY impact this season. Barry, Dibling, Röhl, and Aznou... That's well over 70m of...potential. I'm not sure we can afford such indulgence.

Different position but Palace bought that Piro from Villarreal for £7m less than we paid for Barry.

I don't know if the lad's a dud but take him out of firing line for time being.

Honestly if Barry saw minutes with the same players I would not doubt his performance improves. I don't think it's all his fault. I think in most situations though Beto is a nuisance with the right lineup around him. Barry needs a bit more strength training.

Barry is 22, having made a step up into the most competitive league in world football. He's playing in a new team, new style of football, new country. I think he may need some time to acclimatise.

The problem is, he's very similar to Beto and we have little other option.
That first bit is to do with your all round play and getting into a striking position, he is awful at that and not good enough to get in goal scoring positions. Once you have a chance on goal, leagues and levels mean nothing, you can either finish or you can’t, none of ours can.

He’s actually not similar to Beto. Doesn’t have his pace, desire or physicality.
