Barca - Real Madrid

Nooooooooo!

Just put in the Arteta thread what I've read about what the Madrid players went out to do to Messi..break his legs etc.

And Messi retaliated by playing out his skin. Something Arteta and Cahill on Saturday didnt do when stupid tackles went flying in.

Messi did mock them on the pitch mate, make no mistake. But like all players seem to do, when he got the hit in the face, he made it known it had happened.

And then oddly got booked for diving. Which is interesting, because he didn't dive. If the ref didn't see it the foul, then fair enough, but how can you see something that didn't happen? Me thinks he just pussied out, like with the handball later. That said, he did allow a lot of things to play on, and played a great advantage for Barca's 3rd I think it was.

I've fallen in love with football again after tonight. Coz quite frankly, before this evening, it was pi$$ing me off big time

I absolutely love the fact that Barca can play such a beatiful football without anyone playing as a typical centre forward - Messi is a central attacking midfielders/false "9" and Villa are Pedro are playing as wide forwards. Games like this show, that if you have a right players (they don't have to be as good as Barca's, as Roma show in the past) tactics without centre forward can lead to an absolutely stunning performances.

Hahaha, nah bud, im working arn't i serving on the trains! Your right though, Chelsea not won in 4 or something?? It will be us to gift them a win

Aye mate. We're always the springboard for struggling teams.

You just need to look at how Sunderland, Bolton and Newcastle have played against Chelsea -- and been fruitful. They've all shown no fear, and gone for it.

Now the sensible thing to do then would surely be to follow suit, and give a spirited, positive performance?

But if we actually do anything but sit back and play like we're a sunday league team, in awe of the champions, I'll eat all of your respective hats.

On topic: Puyol is the man. Great captain and also a great defender. Plus, he's a bit Tim Cahill-ish in the box. By that I mean he's got a great leap for another 5'10-er, and knows how to power a header home.

True, but that said, Barca do spend too. The man with the brace tonight, Villa, cost them €40 million this summer.

Well they can spend, they have the funds - but in comparison to what Madrid have spent, then they are millions of miles apart.

I'm also amazed at the sheer love in us guys are having here tonight on this thread - not a cross word.

Football is the true winner, and that was probably the best football I have seen for a long long time.
