Superb TV series. One of my favourites. The episode in the concentration camp is horrendous.

But yes it's incredible TV series, probably my favourite, it's an even better read.

Kind of how Band of Brothers is Saving Private Ryan the series, this could be Memphis Belle the series.

Based on a book by Donald L Miller apparently. Not read it but might have a look on Amazon. Looks interesting. Some great videos on YouTube by Ron Livingston about the Band of Brothers actors going through boot camp before they filmed the series.

It is an absolutely terrific show, for me The Wire, Sopranos and Battlestar Galactica are ahead, but to be fair they are much longer series so are able to develop character and plot over a much longer run. For a mini series only Generation Kill has topped it for me.

The cast of Band of Brothers is something else, Damian Lewis and Ron Livingston are great leads but Michael Fassbender, Simon Pegg, Kirk Acevedo, David Schwimmer, Tom Hardy, James McAvoy and Jamie Bamber all show up in the supporting cast.

Generation kill is very good

Wish I'd been there but glad I didn't have to, based on mostly real stuff, scary.
Full credit to them, both the ones who died and the survivors, who in some ways had it tougher.

We don't know how lucky we are.
