Baines

No, no, no, no. This is unacceptable. Who ever wrote this is a filthy pirate hooker, who needs to shut their whore mouth and return to their home on Whore Island. Baines is not leaving. End of Line.

News of the World, apparently but they mention a £15M bid, which is not 'crazy' money.

Of course., like all blues I want him to stay but if he wants to go its 40 million or we tell them to [Poor language removed].

Honestly, who could we replace him with? All those assists? We'd have to have fabregas playing at left back.

If they even think of offering that utter shoite Wayne Bridge in any sort of exchange I will hate them even more. And I'm not sure that's possible.

Bridge is terrible, it says it as if we'd be happy with getting Bridge and cash, do one. The only fella i've heard is fit to even polish Leighton's boots is Izaguirre at Celtic. Even then, he'd have huge boots to fill.

Baines is not as good as Ashley Cole defensively, going forward he certainly is, probably better, but he's nowhere near as solid as Cole.

Baines 10-11
Total Tackles Attempted: 84
Successful: 62 (73.8%)

Cole 10-11
Total Tackles Attempted: 100
Successful: 67 (67%)

And that proves what ? Cole is a better tackler than Baines ?. Baines is good going forward and he's ok defensively, but he's not quite mastered the balance of the two like Cole. He's done really well this season, but nobody is going to try and suggest that Baines is better than Cole, utter nonsense. Cole is probably the best left back in the world at the moment, and doing it at the highest level week in week out. Baines hasn't developed that level of consistancy or the defensive assurance of Cashley (As much as i hate him).

Ashley Cole is **** defensively and cant cross as good as Baines.

And im not sayin that cos hes an Everton player, cos its clear hes gonna be sold, bye Leighton.

Cole's had an awful season, though. He's not been anywhere near his best. He's coasting on his reputation, man.

Bainesy is the most has supplied the most assists (as a defender) of goals in the PL for the past 3 seasons

The margin by which Cole is better defensively is a lot smaller than the margin by which Baines is better offensively.

5 goals (2nd most for a defender in the league) and 11 assists (most for a defender in the league - by 7!) show that Baines is just unrivalled going forward at the moment. And bear in mind we're gash up front, so most of his sumptuous crosses go to waste.

All in all, not even taking age into account, I think Baines is the better modern fullback and I wouldn't trade him for Cashley in a million years.

An awful season ? He was an ever-present in the side with the joint-best defensive record in the league. Lets not be silly now.

Cole is better than Baines. I'm not arsed if he can't cross as well as him, Alex is a better free-kick taker than Vidic, doesn't mean he's a better centre half. Cole is twice the player Baines is defensively, and thats no slight on Baines. Baines is decent defensively, but his consistancy, positioning and concentration aren't the best. Baines is better going forward though, thats not in any question and he is definitely Coles' replacement at International level, but till he can master the balance of attacking and defending, week in week out at the highest level, he'll never be considered better.

I wouldn't trade the two purely because Ashley is getting on, but Baines won't be here for much longer anyway. But if we had both of them, as England do, it'd still be Ashley starting ahead of him for me, and probably for the overwhelming majority of managers too.
