I would rather further my career by playing in Europe with a team on the up.

I agree mate as would I, but as a player even if they wanted to they must be honest with themselves and go for the cash. Who knows they might only be in the top flight for a bunch of years, cash in while you are still fit, wanted and able.
It leaves a bitter taste in a few peoples mouths, but such is life.

if it takes this long to agree a price how long will it be to sort out wages. is it any wonder why evertonians are all pessimistic and generally suspicious of any news that comes out of the club. I'm dreading the uefa cup as we will probably get spanked again by some no mark european minnows.:(

smith has now gone to newcastle. it would have been cool having him at goodison. i think we might have missed out this time.

Can't really blame him if the choice was between Newcastle and Boro. However he will be 3rd or 4th choice behind Owen, Martins and Viduka.

I think that the stalling sale of BT prevented us from making a bid. How is possible, Kilbane and Davies should have created some £4-5 m. on top of whatever BK had promised Moyes - if any.

Come on get Baines in quick, or are Everton just waiting for Newcastle to get that one as well.

Apparently the reason the BT sale hasn't gone through is because BT is on holiday. That's what it said last night on City. But surely he isn't on holiday, unless its agent.

But then the club said that if they were in the States they would still be making a move on players if they came available, so to me it just sounds like BT is holding out for a better move.

Personally I'm not fussed that we haven't signed Smith, as its fairly obvious what he really wants, he's a cheque book player who couldn't cut the mustard with some of the greatest players in this country at the moment.

Still though, am becoming rather anxious, especially as Wyness has assured us that players are going to be signed.
