This isn't an Everton related thread.

Mods should either appoint me or stop eating beef jerky, the bad yanks.

He was terrible, and looks out of his depth for England.

His defending is shocking, and he goes forward terrified, and the rest of the team dont want to pass to him, and he doesnt even take corners of freekicks, whats the point in him playing ??

They might aswell play Lescott at left back if they just want a defender.

are you on drugs? baines wasnt out of his depth at all. he did what was asked of him ie defend, you might be able to point the last goal at him for not getting tight enough but ffs he was against Robben! when he tried to get forward down the left no fokker passed to him. thankless task for him last night. and judging by the crosses and corners etc last night he SHOULD have been taking them instead of blerts like johnson and young.

He wasn't poor, he was up against top players in an inexperienced defence and tried to do too much. Plus, I think Johnny had warned them about his crossing ability because they usually doubled up on him - at times they had 3 men closing him down.

He was slow to get to Kuyt though, but he faced Robben up and it took a deflection off Cahill to beat the keeper.

He was 10 yards off Robben when the cross came over, god knows why he was holding hands with Cahill.

By the time he got to Robben.....and showed him inside on his prefered foot, was too late. Piss poor defending.

He was very meh. Not great, not terrible, just ok. Make no mistake though if it had been Cole who assisted Cahill's goal (who had a poor game himself) the commentator would have mentioned it time and time again.

The team were poor not just Bainesy, all crab football across the back and defensive midfield but no penetration. It wasn't Bainseys finest hour but come on Holland are a world class team with world class forwards in Robben, Van Persie, Schneider etc its always going to be a defend first mission and contribute in attack when you can. I also think Smalling was shocking but he plays for Man Utd so he's obviously a nailed on England player meh!!

He was never really given the ball in advanced areas but he was poor at the back.

Can't let Arjen Robben show you onto that left foot of his.

Got done by a Dirk Kuyt cross too ffs.

Not on last nights performance he wont.

For England, Cole is so much better than him, and Cole can actually defend.
