Again, I get the window is open for another few weeks. If this goes to deadline day and he decides he'd rather suffer in Russia for another 6 months, leaves almost literally no time to bring in a replacement for a position we are woefully deficient in.

Surely the plan is to get a suitable player regardless of it being Witsel or someone else. I'm sure we've been running concurrent enquiries elsewhere whilst talking to Witsel and his people.

We can get by with Stickleback for a game or 2 or 3, but I agree, the midfield should certainly have been improved by now.
