Very true.

But the appeal i would imagine for him right now would be kev and rom being here. If he wants out of russia then going to a club where he has fellow belgians, henan as well if he is part of the squad this year.

£20mil over four years will help mate

Juve have spent £30mil on Pjanic, and won't be buying another midfielder unless Pogba is sold.

The money they currently have without selling another player will be put towards a striker.

Yeah I agree. I think they are just sniffing, no firm interest at this time. Interestingly the report does state that Witsel will decide today!!!

Unless they have said, its crap here, the fans get on your back the minute you do one thing wrong, abuse the hell out of you on twitter, and you have to share a training pitch with Niasse & Kone,

Pretty bad for us fans knowing that Witsel doesn't want to join us at all, so is holding out as long as possible for a more attractive offer to come to fruition. Now the only reason he'll end up joining us is because nobody else put more money in front of him, not because he genuinely wants to be here or respects the club.

You RAWK lot need to work on the art of subtley. You can tell it's absolutely killing their fans that we are chasing top players with big money offers, Bless.

That does seem like the cheaper end of the spectrum. I am not really surprised though with Moshiris contacts in Russia/Ukraine through Usmanov it wouldnt surprise me if Everton are one of the few clubs that can get deals done in that region without being fleeced. Feel better that it is the lower end of the fee scale though. People like Moshiri dont acquire their wealth by throwing money around for the sake of it, they do it by being prudent and being able to distinguish value. I think Moshiri knows he may have to give more in wages to land some of the players we have been linked with but I don't think we are going to blow other teams out of the water in terms of transfer fees because with the amount of money available through broadcasting everyone can offer silly money. Would be good to get Witsel sorted now though before half the people on heres heads fall off because we have all this money and cant seem to spend it!!

aye, but the general view at the beginning was that he preferred napoli for their CL place. I just mean if we are the ones signing him, he is happy to come because he has fellow countrymen here, who hopefully he gets on with lol

To be fair if rom and especially kev didn't like playing for us they would be gone by now. Even now kev isn't demanding to move which shows it can't be that bad playing for the club.

I personally think that Witsel may well have been looking to see if anybody else comes in before committing to joining us and there is nothing wrong with that. I don't see it as him not wanting to join us. He won't join us if he doesn't want to.

Contracts and fees can be agreed prior to a medical, anyone remember Leroy Fer fiasco when we tried to change the terms so they pulled the plug on us.

Axel could sign now, even on holiday. Not to hard to send someone out to him or send the documents to his hotel.

But, it's clear he is not going to be rushed into anything and his team are playing the long game. What do they want?? More money or more options no one really knows except for that inner circle.

All we are doing here is twiddling our fingers and making assumptions.
