Axel Witsel

The player that stood out for me in the RS games was actually Witsel. I can remember watching and thinking we should sign the lad

Didn't even notice Defour and Fellaini (bizzarly:huh:)

Was that the same fella who was runner up only to Jags for player of the season? What a waste of money that chap was.

I'm not saying he was a waste of money at all.

If you believe the BS Moyes said about "watching him for years" *sniggers*, then your a fool. We signed him based on the performance against the RS.

His performance against Liverpool no doubt encouraged us to match Standards valuation - but considering we publicly had a bid rejected in March 2008 - I think its safe to say we had been tracking him for a while

Yes, because dithering Dave signs players after watching 1 game. He was probably tracking him since he left Primary School. Waiting to pounce when he felt he was ready!

If you believe that David Moyes doesnt do his homework on players your very short sighted. I point you towards our squad that was created with very little cash. And must surely be worth twice that now.

Because i said it over 1 transfer, it doesn't mean all.

I still believe Fellaini was a panic buy.

He was 100% a panic buy, he was about number 3-4 on Daveys magic list. 1 for the future really. Even Moyes has said something like that, he was tracking him, but clearly we overpaid, but if you buy players on the last day of the window, you always will.

I'd rather not to be honest.

Great post.

Phil Neville and Tim Cahill were 2nd and 3rd i think?

Not sure mate, will get back to yeah? Defo won young player shizzle.

Moyes must panic real quick if the 3rd player on his list is a panic buy!! :p

Personally like Fellaini and I'm very confident he'll become a great player for us. So don't believe he was a panic buy, it's more like it was a panic fee we paid for him.

If we get another one "panic buy" like Fellaini on the last day of the window this year ill be happy.

If Fellaini cost us £5million I'd be happy. Not £15million!!

Last player who cost us anywhere near £15million, scored 20 goals for us.
