Away seating structure

Away seating works with the better seats allocated to the first to buy. If you're on 6+ away you will get the better seat for that game and it will work it's way down. Pretty good structure eh?

Now I got my west ham tickets and I only ordered them the other day. My seat is in the block that is directly behind the goal and from looking online it looks a good seat. So my question is, for the people who ordered with 6+ aways what block is your seat? I know Everton take the left hand side of the goal furthest away from the tunnel so why am I closer to the goal and the ones who bought the seats first are by the corner flag? It doesn't make sense to me. If anyone can help, tell me your block number etc and when you ordered. Or if anyone can provide more experience on this. I haven't been to upton park before.

Thanks.

Reps to posters.

I already owe reps to:

Iijy's

i've had the same experience, buying fairly late and being more directly behind the goal. The club may see people who are season ticket holders with lots of aways as more likely to cause trouble, hence want to have these more ardent fans further away from the border? Does seem very unfair on them to be honest.

It's luck of the draw, I bought WBA tickets last year on 6+ just after 8am and was on Row A and could hardly see a thing. I've bought tickets late and had cracking views. Everton just assign you and you get put there I reckon

i bought my cardiff ticket straight away at 8am on 6+ credits and was back row, same as west ham but i'm row A for that instead

Was Row A for West Ham last season mate, if you're to the right of the goal it is a superb seat. You see everything and you are right on the pitch near enough, you'll like it as long as you're not behind the goal

Everton released an article on their website (I think iijy has it) stating that the "best" seats are allocated first yet this doesn't seem to be happening.

Shaun, what block are you in? I'm assuming its 1?

This best seat first is bollocks, i normally get mine early and had some bad seats, the tickets are sold in blocks which the home team tells them what order to sell them.

maybe it's their POV though? maybe they feel that Row A is the best seats, therefore they are issuing the best seats in their view.

The club are told what order to sell them in by the away team, we do the same with teams who visit Goodison, to be honest thou i think sometimes you can get a better seat if you go the box office yourself

Depending on what you class as 'the best seats', as someone who has only missed a handful of aways in the past 9 years, my own experience is that definitely isn't the case.

I regularly get my away ticket the first day they go on sale, often at 8am in person myself at Goodison, as soon as the box office opens. I probably shouldn't, based on my experience, but it's the easiest time for me to get it, work wise.

The number of times my ticket has been at the very front of a lower tier stand, or at the very back, or right in the corner, is ridiculous. In fact West Ham last season, I was front row, in the corner, couldn't see a thing, my seat was broken and it chucked it down. The floor on which I stood up the whole game became waterlogged and resembled a pigs trough at 4:45pm.

I've had obstructed views at Chelsea for £49 a pop. I've been at the back of the stand at Middlesbrough, with the police box blocking my view. At QPR I had an obstructed view for £40. I've had some utter shockers over the years. There's a gang of us who go together. One of my mates has written to Elstone in the past complaining about this very subject, explaining how poorly the fans with the most away credits get treated.

The thing is most of the people who go to the aways have the relevant credits. They can't give everyone the best seats. I also think a lot of it is guesswork. You can't expect the girls in the box office to know which tier is best at Chelsea or whether you get a better view from the front row or the back row at Norwich.

What I definitely agree with on though is price. It's obscene. Norwich, Cardiff and West Ham has set me back nearly £150 just on tickets before you even take travel into account, and we haven't played a top half team yet.

I phoned up Everton just now and asked them how it works. He said he doesn't have the tickets to hand when they get ordered but they go out in blocks.

Mikey, with the Cardiff seats they sold out on 4+ so it's the equivalent of it going to general sale, know what I mean?

I asked them about the supporters clubs and they take the bulk of them with the better seats. Individuals don't really get priority on a good seat.

He wasn't really clued up on it but he helped as best he could.
