Away games - discuss.

There are situations sometimes though where there aren't good seats anywhere else.

I really don't think people should be forced to sit in a certain section so that others can break the law. That's why there should be standing sections.

Yeah i agree there should be safe standing sections, this would solve the problem.

Can understand people wanting to stand up if there singing or we have a chance or something but to just stand up for the sake of it is a bit stupid in my opinion as it doesn`t create a better atmosphere and it just means everybody else has to stand up. so when singing or attacking i think its fine, other than that its a no.

I think it depends where you sit tbh, if you get a seat in the lower gwldays you have to expect people to be standing up a bit or standing when there's a chence becasue thats what most people like to do in the gwladys, if someones wanting to sit down for all the match they should sit in the family end or somewhere else, but they can't complain if people are standing in the lower gwlayds

It's against the law to stand. You pay for a 'seat'. If others are obstructing your view then you're not in the wrong complaining about it.

This really.

I see your point mate but the rules are the rules. I'm pretty sure there will be people who sit in the GS who resent people standing up so much. The GS is the cheapest stand is it not? I've sat in there before and to be perfectly honest I found it quite annoying having to stand up every 30 seconds or so. But I hardly ever go so If I told someone to sit down I'd feel a bit of a tit if I was talking to a season ticket holder especially.

It's a quack from me. Folks can do what they like so long as it doesn't spoil anyone elses enjoyment.

I will say this though. If some tit at any ground tries to pressure me to stand then, even if I'd rather stand I'll sit down and tell them to do the same.

Fully paid up member of the awkward gits I am.

Ha, sounds like me.

Standing up at aways is much better I understand old people wanting to sit the club should sell tickets to people who wanted to stand at the back and at the front if they want to sit

why do so many fans stand at all the other stadiums then ?
and why do the Evertonians mostly keep so quiet ?
WBA fans have a song for Lukaku - a loan player - Everton fans do not have a song for Baines i believe - strange -
on Saturday the fans should have spurred Everton on to a win but they apparantly watched quietly while their team drew against a much weaker playing side -
this is just my observation - maybe there are good reasons for it

There's a whole thread about the Baines song. There are so many no-one knows which one to go for!

As for standing up, I'll say this. I don't go aways anymore but when I did I never felt aggrieved if fellow Evertonians wanted to stand or sit. As for now, I see every Tom, Dick, Harry FC supporter all standing up all around the country so when I see our lot sitting, I think to myself "Good, we're different."

And opposition supporters giving us stick? Pah, if you don't like getting stick then stay at home and don't leave the house. I couldn't care less what they say or don't say.

One other thing worth notiing is that all this away fans standing up at Goodison wasn't always the case since it went all seater in 1994. The Mancs were the first to do it lower and upper at GP and obviously every ted wanted to do the same.

I think it's clearly a better atmosphere when standing and personally I want to stand, be good If fans who wanted to sit could get tickets at the front and fans who stand nearer the back to create an atmosphere and get behind the team! Most big clubs stand now hopefully we can get a group of fans standing at every away aswell.

What about fans who want to sit down when the game is ****e and stand up when something interesting is happening? Why do we have to manufacture an atmosphere. It's been organic for decades. If we all stand and it's still ****e will you take your shirt off? After that do we all have to pogo?

I'm honestly past the point of caring now.
Proof of the standing creates a better atmosphere myth is a load of bollocks was at Stoke for me, I was quite far back and people behind a few rows moaning about everyone sitting. To which they stood, and didn't sing a single thing. Whereas I was much louder by singing sitting down and getting a few chants going, so it's up to the fans to sing to create an atmosphere, we don't have to stand.

A better atmosphere causes standing, not the other way around.

There are plenty of absolute garbage matches played every week in the prem where away fans stand up. At Sunderland away in the cup last season we stood up because it was an exciting and important game. It wasn't standing up itself that created the atmosphere, it was the occasion and the fact that people were nervous/excited.

United fans stand at every game they go to and the atmosphere at some of their matches (from what i've seen on MOTD) is sometimes terrible and sometimes really good.

That's bang out of order in my opinion. Cheeky b*stards.

They were just getting all irate and saying ''you boring b*stards stand up" and all that bollocks.
It was quite funny watching them get wound up actually, because they want to stand to create an atmosphere when they actually did more moaning than trying to get songs going.

I hate being told when to sit and when to stand.

It's my laptop, my sofa and I'll do what the [Poor language removed] I like. The dishwasher can wait.

Think i know the people you're talking about actually. There was a small group a few rows in front of me to the left who stood up despite nothing exciting happening and people directly behind them being sat down.

Those people have paid just as much money as they have to attend that game, they've got absolutely no right to tell other supporters what to do. I'd have told the meffs to Frig right off there and then.
