Atmosphere at Goodison

I'm pretty much with you. It has been suggested that they weren't booing the player, but rather the style.

I'm pretty sure if I was Jags, I'd have felt I was being booed for the pass I just did.

Booing at 3-1 up with 10 minutes to go...killing off a game after some dodgy results. Seems a bit extreme to me.

Yeah I'm sure your right that it was the style not the player but these same people didn't mind this style last season when we're winning.

"We only sing when we're winning"???

God I hope we're not going down that route!

Fella in front of me (in the LG) got pelters for standing up and trying to sing, grinded with me.

A lot of booing going on.

The new Barkley song got a little bit of an airing though.

We have one of the worst supports in the league, when the team comes out.....nothing, we just about get a rendition of Everton trickling through but last night there was nothing and the fans knew how important this game was to win. If you go to any other ground you will hear the home team sing at the start, we can't say the team don't give us something to cheer about because a ball hasn't been kicked at this point!
We have a great following but the support is abysmal. One of the worst in the top flight

Roberto can think (his Philosophy ) and say ( his polyanna sound bytes ) what he likes, while football maybe a business, he has to remember it is part of the ENTERTAINMENT business and
Not that it is strictly relevant, but the person who may well be attending his or her one and only game and may have come from the USA or NZ or where ever. He or she pays his or her 34 quid in say, the lower Gwladys. They have come to be entertained, have a night out, make memories that will have to last him or her or even more important their kids all their life.
They have also put in 34 times more than Moyes, Martinez, Kenwright and his puppet masters etc have ever done

They are allowed to boo when a free kick in the attacking third of the field goes back, via 5 or 6 backwards and sideways passes, to the keeper.

The School of Science is closed for renovations it seems.

you have IMO 18 months Roberto to sort it.

Back in the day ( way back in the day ) at some meeting or other, maybe the UN. Khruchchev, then Russian Premier, when they carried some clout. famously stood up and banged his shoe on the table saying ( it is alleged ) how long have I got to listen to this s**t.

He also said and it could also may be applied to managers and chairmen... A Politician; some one who promises to build you a bridge where there isn't even a river.

Down with this sort of thing as Father Ted said.

Not a happy camper here

Some might say it's picky to pull a 3-1 win to bits

But in the entertainment business, it ain't what you do it's the way you do it... just look at Tommy Cooper.

Sort it Bobby... just like that.

end of fume.

I had 4 mates text me last night telling me it was the quietest game of football they've ever watched on tele, apart from the boos.

Even when the goals went in everyone cheered, then sat down. Incredibly weird atmosphere last night.

My view on it, we've been treated to poor poor displays this season and yesterday people had had enough, even when we were 3 - 0 up, we were negative...we had a free kick, loaded the box and had only distin back...we passed BACKWARDS to Distin then BACKWARDS to Howard...when their box was full of our players!?!?!

That's just insane!

Howard totally lost it when the final boos came too, he started waving his hands as in "what do you want"

I'm really starting to believe now they're superstitious and every attack HAS to start with Distin.

Question for the boo haters...the people who weren't happy made their voices heard, if you were so happy with 3 0, why didn't you make your voice heard?

In the Gwladys last night. Surreal atmosphere, nearly as quiet as the Hull game.

I can't understand those booing with 10 minutes to go at 3-1. The team are massively low on confidence. How will it help?

BOOOOOOO.

Our home support is as terrible as our away support is fantastic. Probably said it many times before but we cant as a what 39 thousand seater stadium finish singing grand old team EVER.

My theory is that the years and years have sucked the enthusiasm out of the average season ticket holder and as the past has proven, match going fans are different to ones who don't go the match. therefore watching all the boring games under Moyes, terrible under Smith, Kendall and Walker has left the average fan expecting the worst.

Booing when we passed it back to the keeper at 3-1 seemed a bit rum in all honesty.

That being said, the crowd weren't quiet. That would suggest we made no noise. We did make noise, but in response to what we saw. Goodison is a reactive crowd and has been for a while now. It's just the way it is. To complain about it now is simply redudant. If you're that exercised by it, buy a ticket yourself and get down the ground. If you already buy a ticket, try and get a chant going. I managed to get about 20 people in my section to chant for a bit last night.

So it was you that got "What a load of rubbish" going, eh? Should be ashamed of yourself.

Think the relationship between team and fans of Dortmund is the one to be aspired towards. Especially when the team is failing.
Crowd-support and team-performance is a dynamic thing. They affect one another. Passively as well as actively. Last night's booing, while fair to do in some instances like the free kick that ended back at Howard, do not in any way help the team. It hinders them.

I watched on tv and agree 100%, although the only boo's i heard were for a back pass from Jags - which i didn't really understand as we were 3-1 up at the time in the latter stages of the game.

Was an argument in the LG right near were the gwladys meets the Bullens nearly a fight too, not 100 percent but looked like one fella had a go of another one cos he was dissing the blues!

That "We only sing when we're winning" is the most embarrassing thing i've ever heard at a football match
