Atmosphere at Goodison

The away games have improved a considerable amount now. Everyone needs to keep standing and getting behind the side, no atmosphere without standing. In terms of the home games, everyone from the pillars back in GT4 should be standing every game then other sections for more important games. There are just too many people happy to sit there and moan in the Gwladys for the whole end to be standing. I tried making a twitter account to promote a standing section, but I got shot down straight away. "You're a kopite", "you're an embarrassment" was the constant reply. Some people want to sit down, fair enough but so somewhere where that's a guarantee. The Gwladys is the singing bit, basically ever side in the prem has a section where people stand bar us (and fulham). Something needs to change, someone has to grab it by the neck and get Goodison going again.

I posted that the other day lid, you, nobody, and ovideo37 should have a read

I wrote a few articles about this issue on other fan websites and I got similar responses. Personally I think we need to create a group rather than an area. Obviously there's quite a few on here who would be interested in a standing/singing area. I believe the best thing to do is to group similar to that of the Green Brigade but without the politics and moronic behaviour just a group dedicated to supporting the team. If we continue to just talk nothing will get solved something actually needs to be done quickly to improve the atmosphere at games. I think the club and other supporters would support us but only if enough fans showed interest.

Lets say we put it in GT3 (is that right behind the goal?) What do you do with STH with little ones? I know some bird with a 3year old kid with season tickets in there. They wouldn't be happy. How did palace, celtic and rangers sort this out?

Our ultras would be crap anyway IMO, they would just all sing allez allez allez au constantly.

@Oviedo37 it is progress and most are now aware of what is happening so at the West Ham we will assess it then and see if there's been much change, if nothing then I am prepared to get leaflets printed and hand them out around the stadium 2 hours before kick off.

There will be no change, it's West Ham at home ffs there will be no atmosphere....If you can get something going that would be amazing.

I'm really pleased to see this discussed again,

Eticketing. GT8 is a great area for it the last 4 rows are free, GT7 has loads of empty seats but the view is bad. GT4 has some space and is where some of the current singers are.

I'm really pleased to see this brought up again. There's a few off this site that were involved in the last one, Marsh on here was one of the top lads who went and was a big part of it getting set up. I'm sure there were a few more off here usernames often change so are quite hard to keep track of sorry.

Hi mate. I saw this the other day and had a good read of it. I thought it was a great post and I agreed with everything! I actually got a ticket in GT8 for the Swansea game but was quite disappointed.

Well nothings been done in GT8 as of yet so you will be disappointed if you were expecting an atmosphere there, but it's a great spec to do this if you got the required 20-30 lads in there at the back.

Yeah I just gave that on myevertonnews.com a quick read. As you say the back 4 rows are free but IMO it would be better at the front?

Just had a quick look on the Everton site and IMO GT4 would be perfect for it. Right behind the goal.

Looking at eticketing here, GT2 has lots of seats available but its a bit out the way IMO.

I had a ST in LB5 and you could hear a few lads trying to get some songs going but it just didn't work well. People just look at them and start laughing.

I'm definitely up for it.

Lots of clubs move supporters for a variety of reasons. City turned their North Stand into a family area and moved lot of fans. Other clubs have moved away fans such as Villa and Sunderland. Personally I don't really understand why people take kids in the street end because people stand up every time the ball gets near the penalty area anyway. This can't be done without the club I think Celtic moved a lot of supporters who weren't in the Green Brigade out of block 111 to other areas of the ground. I don't believe anything can be done by individuals as the club aren't going to give an area to vocal fans and risk losing money if there's not enough fans who want to purchase tickets in the area.

Just been looking then. You're right about GT2, loads free, so it is worth a real look. With GT4 the main seats that are free quite badly obstructed, as in 2 posts in your way.

With GT8 I know where you're coming from about the front. It starts about half way up the Gwladys St with a barrier at the front, so it's sectioned off as well. GT8 is only 20 rows deep, it ticks loads of boxes, however there's no empty seats at the front. The back though is hidden out the way which encourages fans to let themselves go a bit more. Ideally from row HH and back in GT8 would be great, but you wouldn't get that instantly.

We got the offer of the clubs help eventually but to be honest you don't need it to get it off the ground. You'll need their help from time to time in the long run, but that's way off. If you're part of 20-30 fans singing then it's a great atmosphere yet it's not that many people. You shouldn't need the club for 30 fans. to be grouped together. Yes to expand to over 100 regularly then yes you do.

At the moment, I've heard Man United are moving non-singers to different sections of the ground and putting singers in the same place.
